Setup

Prepare your development environment before starting ABAP Foundations. The course uses Eclipse with ABAP Development Tools (ADT) and an ABAP Cloud project connected to SAP BTP ABAP Environment / Trial.

Already connected?

If your ABAP Cloud project opens in ADT and you have a development package where you can create objects, continue to the ABAP Foundations overview.

Setup guides

1. Install Eclipse & ADT — follow the main guide to install your tools and create an ABAP Cloud project.
2. Set up SAP BTP Trial — use this guide when the installation guide asks for an ABAP environment, if you do not already have one. Then return to the installation guide to connect your project.

You are ready when you can open your ABAP Cloud project in Eclipse and access a package for your course objects.
